Former UFC middleweight champion and current ONE Championship vice president Rich Franklin recently spoke with ESPN’s Brett Okamoto on Conor McGregor being pulled from the paramount card after refusing to take part in some media obligations to promote the event.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez is currently gearing up for his pivotal fight with Travis ‘Hapa’ Browne at UFC 200 on July 9th. The fight is a ‘must-win’ for Velasquez, who looks to fight Fabricio Werdum and once again capture his UFC heavyweight championship. Boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez met with Velasquez after the UFC 200 Press Conference, where he offered an invitation to train the former heavyweight champ.

Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar is currently gearing up for his UFC 200 rematch with Jose Aldo for the interim UFC featherweight championship. Edgar, who lost the UFC lightweight championship to Benson Henderson back in 2012, lost his first fight against Aldo at UFC 156 in a competitive contest for the featherweight title. The winner of their UFC 200 rematch on July 9th will then fight Conor McGregor for the undisputed featherweight championship.

While Rafael dos Anjos is currently the UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov holds a win over dos Anjos, something ‘The Eagle’ hasn’t been quick to let RDA forget. Nurmagomedov had been sidelined for two years before his return to the Octagon earlier this month at UFC on FOX 19, where he defeated UFC newcomer Darrell Horcher via 2nd round TKO.

In the main event of UFC 197 Jon Jones and Ovince Saint Preux fought to a decision that saw Jones awarded the interim UFC light heavyweight championship. At some point during the second half of the fight, Saint Preux blocked a kick from Jones that broke his arm. While he was seen wincing in pain after the fight, Saint Preux fought as though he was not injured, earning him quite a bit of respect from fans.

MMA pioneer Don Frye is never one to shy away from speaking his mind. The former UFC tournament winner often finds himself at odds with the UFC brass for speaking out against the promotion. Recently, Frye gave an interview in which he weighed in on UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor’s standoff with the UFC. Given Jon Jones’ win over Ovince Saint Preux at UFC 197, Frye was also asked how he thinks a rematch between Jones and Cormier will go.

Earlier this month, former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos returned to the win column as he defeated Ben Rothwell via unanimous decision in Zagreb Croatia. The win for JDS was a much needed one after losing via TKO to Alistair Overeem back in the end of 2015. Unfortunately for the former heavyweight champ, he was forced to undergo shoulder surgery following his win over Rothwell, and will now be sidelined for twelve weeks.

UFC featherweight Diego Brandao has found himself in a world of trouble after an alleged incident in Albuquerque, New Mexico that resulted in his arrest. “The Ultimate Fighter 14” winner was arrested on April 14th after an incident outside of a strip club. Brandao allegedly pointed a gun at several people and pistol whipped an employee of the club. Brandao was charged with three felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and another for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Calderwood and Letourneau will meet in Ottawa, Canada on June 18 at The Arena at TD Place in the UFC’s very first women’s flyweight bout.

Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris says that he was pronounced dead after suffering from cardiac arrest, dehydration, fatigue and renal failure after his Bellator 149 fight against Kimbo Slice. Dada 500 posted a photo of himself from when he was in the hospital to get a grasp of the gravity of the situation.
