Jason 'Mayhem' Miller still set to fight at Venator FC III on one condition

Jason “Mayhem” Miller was scheduled to come out of retirement to fight for the Venator middleweight title against the champion Luke Barnatt. That all came to a screeching halt when Miller stepped on the scale for weigh-ins and weighed in at 209 pounds, which puts him in the heavyweight division.
Despite last fight a win, fighter still cut from the UFC

Fighting in the UFC is a big deal and you have to prove yourself not only to get into the largest MMA promotion in the world but also prove yourself once you are in. Lucas Martins is a testament to that after the UFC did not offer a new contract to him, despite his last fight at UFC Fight Night 86 being a win. Martins took a split-decision win over Robert Whiteford but had lost his two fights prior to that.

Just when you thought the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor talk would be coming to a close after McGregor’s meeting with the heads of the UFC to discuss his next UFC fight, another report comes out regarding the mega fight between the two of combat sport’s biggest stars. TMZ reports that a source has said that Floyd Mayweather has offered Conor McGregor $50 million for their fight. There is even a date and a location offered for the fight, which is a New Year’s Eve bout in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva was slated to fight Uriah Hall this past weekend at UFC 198 in his hometown of Curitiba, Brazil, however an inflamed gallbladder forced Silva off the card, and ultimately onto the operating table. ‘The Spider’ was forced to undergo surgery to have his gallbladder removed, and will be unable to train for approximately 4-6 weeks while he heals. Silva took to Instagram with an update for his fans:

The Condit fight – do you even consider that a victory? That’s debatable in itself. He didn’t beat Condit; he won by default. He hasn’t really done anything else beyond that.”

The UFC announced an exciting bantamweight matchup that is bound to be a war as John Lineker is set to take on Michael McDonald at UFC Fight Night 91. While UFC 197 served as the highly anticipated return of Jon Jones, and was also another dominant performance for UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson, the event fell a bit short in terms of pay-per view buys considering Jones was fighting for the first time in nearly two years. According to MMAFighting, the event did between 375,000 and 450,000 buys. For comparison, Jones’ last 5 fights reportedly did the following numbers according to MMAPayout:
