Former Bellator MMA Talent Development Director Zach Light is suing Bellator and parent company Viacom for wrongful dismissal. Light filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court. According to the complaint, Light alleges that it became known to him that fighters under Bellator MMA were using fraudulent medical reports to be permitted to fight for the promotion.

The UFC announced on Wednesday that newly crowned heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic will defend his title for the first time against Alistair Overeem in the main event of UFC 203. The event takes place in Miocic’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio in the Q Arena. Recently, Edgar stated that he felt Aldo was talking trash just to hype the fight, but was doing a rather poor job of it. After Chris Weidman withdrew from his UFC 199 title fight against Luke Rockhold due to a neck injury, there was much speculation as to whether Michael Bisping or Jacare Souza would get the nod to fight for the middleweight championship on short notice. Ultimately, it was revealed that Jacare would need to undergo knee surgery after his TKO win over Vitor Belfort, leading the UFC to give Bisping the shot.

While Conor McGregor’s next opponent was initially supposed to be Nate Diaz, after McGregor was pulled from UFC 200 for refusing to fulfill his media obligations, talks of a potential boxing match with Floyd Mayweather quickly picked up steam. Now, the reports have gone so far as to reveal that McGregor & Mayweather will have their boxing match in September. Throughout all of that, the UFC has been asking Diaz to sign a contract to fight McGregor sooner rather than later.

Earlier this week, unfortunate news surfaced that BJ Penn had been pulled from his scheduled UFC 199 bout with Cole Miller after he voluntarily disclosed that he used an IV back in March. Given that Penn and Miller were slated to be the headlining preliminary card fight, many assumed that Miller would receive a new opponent for the event.
