On June 4 UFC veteran Michael Bisping will get his first shot at UFC gold when he steps in on short-notice to face current middleweight champion Luke Rockhold in the main event of UFC 199. Although “The Count” has been busy filming a movie in recent weeks, the brash English star seems to be in very good shape headed in to his first UFC title bout.
Wanderlei Silva challenges Chael Sonnen to a fight

Former UFC title challenger Chael Sonnen was a recent guest on The MMA Hour where he told Ariel Helwani that he personally saved ‘TUF Brazil 3’ by showing opposing coach Wanderlei Silva his bank account. “The Axe Murderer” denied Sonnen’s recent claims in a video posted to Facebook, where he credited his coach Rafael Cordeiro as being the individual who convinced him to return to the TUF gym. Tyron Woodley denies sitting out for title shot

Back in October, top ranked UFC welterweight Tyron Woodley was set to fight former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks in what was believed to be a #1 contender fight. Unfortunately, Hendricks had a botched weight cut, and was forced to be rushed to the emergency room, cancelling the bout. UFC President Dana White stated after the incident that Woodley was now the welterweight #1 contender, and would fight Robbie Lawler after Lawler vs. Condit at UFC 195. At UFC 195 however, Lawler defeated Condit in what many believe to be one of the most controversial decisions in UFC history. Immediately following the bout, many called for a rematch between the two, leading many to wonder where Woodley stood in the welterweight division’s title picture
Matt Brown reacts to fighting Jake Ellenberger

Following his recent defeat at the hands of Demian Maia earlier this month at UFC 198 in Brazil, fan favorite welterweight Matt Brown signed an 8 fight deal with the UFC. Shortly after his new contract was finalized, Brown signed to fight Jake Ellenberger at UFC 201. The fight is a crucial one for both fighters. Brown enters the bout following his loss to Demian Maia, which saw him drop to #8 on the UFC’s stacked welterweight ranking ladder. Ellenberger on the other hand enters the bout on a 2-fight losing streak, going just 1-4 in his last 5 fights.

Former top ranked UFC middleweight Rousimar Palhares has earned quite a bad reputation in the MMA industry over the last few years. Palhares was suspended for 90 days, and even kicked out of the UFC and the WSOF for refusing to let go of submissions after his opponents tapped. With that being said, Palhares was winning his fights in incredibly dominant fashion, and looking nearly unbeatable. At Venator FC 3 however, 27-year-old Emil Meek managed to end the reign of Palhares, and capture the Venator welterweight championship by knocking out Palhares in just 45 seconds.
Bryan Caraway responds to Aljamain Sterling's fight week antics

Throughout the course of fight week however, Sterling has managed to taunt Caraway quite a few times, then posting the results on social media. UFC lightweight lucky to be alive after horrific motorcycle crash

Unfortunate news surfaced Friday afternoon that UFC lightweight Darrell Horcher, who recently lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov, was involved in a motorcycle accident that left him “grateful to be alive” according to Horcher’s manager. According to Fox Sports, Horcher hit a Jeep that pulled in front of him, and was flung from his bike nearly 240 feet before skidding on the pavement. Fortunately for Horcher, he only suffered from a broken arm, torn ligaments in his ankle, and road rash.
Chael Sonnen blasts Jacare Souza for turning down title fight

It wasn’t too long ago that former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman withdrew from his UFC 199 rematch with Luke Rockhold for the middleweight title. Immediately there was a debate as to whether Jacare Souza or Michael Bisping would get to step in on short notice and fight Luke Rockhold. Unfortunately for Jacare, he would need to undergo knee surgery, making him unable to accept the fight. Ultimately, Bisping agreed to the fight, and will now fight Rockhold next Saturday.
