Report: Bethe Correia vs. Jessica Eye targeted for UFC 203

A women’s bantamweight bout that would surely produce fireworks is being targeted for September’s pay-per-view event in Cleveland, as Combate is reporting that a fight between Bethe Correia and Jessica Eye is in the works for UFC 203. Bethe Correia (9-2 MMA) is coming off back-to-back losses in her two most recent octagon appearances. The Brazilian was knocked out cold by Ronda Rousey in her bid for the title at UFC 190, and most recently lost a close split-decision to Raquel Pennington in April.

Today it was announced that SPIKE TV, the network who would have broadcasted his next fight, will be showing an hour-long “Kimbo” special on June 24 at 7:00pm EST. The “Kimbo Slice” tribute will lead into that night’s Bellator 157 “Dynamite 2” event in Arizona.

Unfortunate news surfaced Saturday afternoon that former Bellator MMA fighter Ivan Cole was found dead in a Dallas apartment earlier in the day after shooting himself in the head while playing a game of Russian roulette. The Dallas Police Department confirmed Cole’s death on their website, where they reveal that Cole was killed around 7:31am Texas Time.
