GSP could 'easily' fight at lightweight in his octagon return

Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre recently announced that he would be making a return to the octagon later this year. “GSP” discussed a possible move up to middleweight in order to challenge newly crowned champion Michael Bisping in his return. UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor suffered the first loss of his UFC career to Nate Diaz this past March in Las Vegas. Diaz submitted the Irish superstar in the second-round of their main event fight at UFC 196.

Conor McGregor will be looking to get revenge on Nate Diaz when the pair square off in the main event of UFC 202 later this summer. The current UFC featherweight champion was submitted by Diaz in the second-round of their welterweight fight at UFC 196 this past March.

Following UFC 196, where Nate Diaz submitted Conor McGregor, the pair were slated to fight in the main event of UFC 200. McGregor wasn’t happy with the situation, and surprised the MMA community when he retired via Twitter. The fight was ultimately scrapped after McGregor refused to fulfill his promotional obligations for the event. Ultimately however, the pair were rebooked to fight at UFC 202 in August.

Last month, Invicta FC women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg made her highly anticipated UFC debut. Cyborg dominated the fight, knocking out Leslie Smith in the 1st round of their catchweight scrap. Despite the dominant win, Cyborg expressed her desire to return to Invicta to defend her featherweight championship before returning to the UFC. While Miesha Tate is open to a fight against Cyborg, Cyborg is putting the pressure on the UFC to create a women’s featherweight division.
Ronda Rousey reportedly "putting in work" at acting school in L.A.

It’s now been nearly 8 months since former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey was knocked out cold by Holly Holm in the main event of UFC 193. Since then there has been much speculation as to whether or not Rousey would ever return to the Octagon given that she regularly receives offers to star in movies. While there has been no word from Rousey herself as to when she will return to the Octagon, UFC President Dana White recently revealed that the former champ is back training, and will be back in the Octagon by the end of the year.

Back in 2013, former UFC champions Rampage Jackson and Tito Ortiz were supposed to fight under the Bellator MMA banner. Unfortunately, Ortiz was injured during his training camp, and was forced to pull out of the fight. The promotion never rebooked the fight, which was fine with Rampage given that the pair are friends. Following Rampage’s Bellator 157 win over Satoshi Ishii last night, Jackson gave his thoughts on what could be next, mentioning a potential fight with Tito Ortiz.

Since Michael Bisping won the UFC middleweight championship by knocking out Luke Rockhold in the main event of UFC 199, he has found himself being called out by nearly everyone in the top 5 of the UFC’s middleweight division. Bisping has done his best to respond to all of the challenges, pointing out that Luke Rockhold was just knocked out, Jacare Souza and Chris Weidman are injured, and that Yoel Romero has been suspended. However, the champ appears to be getting frustrated.
