UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor will rematch Nate Diaz in the headlining bout of next weekend’s UFC 202 pay-per-view event in Las Vegas. Diaz scored a second-round submission victory over the Irish star in their first encounter at UFC 196 this past March.

UFC president Dana White stated earlier this week that Woodley would be making his first title defense against current division number one contender Stephen Thompson.

The UFC Fight Night 95 event has suffered some major changes as four of its fighters have pulled due to injuries. Welterweight fighters Brandon Thatch, who suffered a hand injury, and Shinsho Anzai, who suffered a back injury, have been pulled off of the card.

Strawweight prospect Mackenzie Dern was unable to finish Kenia Rosas in her mixed martial arts debut at Legacy 58, but the current number one pound-for-pound grappler did put on a dominating performance. Dern spoke to MMAFighting‘s Ariel Helwani about the fight and outlined her future goals in the sport: “I’m always confident in my jiu-jitsu, especially since it was Kenia Rosas’ pro debut, and it was my first fight, so I was definitely confident in my jiu-jitsu,” Dern told Ariel Helwani on a recent edition of The MMA Hour. “I hoping to get a submission, but, man, she was so flexible and very tough.

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor is just one week away from the biggest fight of his MMA career when he rematches Nate Diaz in a welterweight bout in main event of UFC 202. Diaz submitted McGregor in the second-round of their UFC 196 headlining bout this past March in Sin City. The loss served as the first of “Mystic Mac’s” UFC career.

Earlier this week, UFC president Dana White stated that current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor would be returning to 145-pounds for his next fight, this after he squares off with Nate Diaz at UFC 202 next weekend. With that said, Conor would be returning to featherweight to have a title unification bout with current interim champion Jose Aldo, who McGregor defeated via first-round KO at UFC 194 in just 13 seconds.
