Over the course of the last several months, #5 ranked women’s bantamweight Julianna Pena has been very adamant about either getting a title fight with bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes, or being the woman to welcome Ronda Rousey back to the Octagon. This week, it was announced that Rousey would be returning to the Octagon at UFC 207 on December 30th, where she will be given an immediate title shot against Amanda Nunes. That didn’t sit too well with Pena, who has been on a tear of the women’s bantamweight division, going on a 4-fight win streak that saw her win ‘The Ultimate Fighter: Team Rousey vs. Team Tate’ back in 2013, before returning to the UFC in 2015 and going on a 3-fight win streak that most recently saw her defeat Cat Zingano at UFC 200.

While reports have continued to emerge that Georges St-Pierre will be returning to the Octagon at UFC 206, there is reportedly one major hang-up that is keeping the former welterweight kingpin out of the Octagon. After several reports regarding GSP’s return were released throughout the course of the past few weeks, St-Pierre himself spoke about the reports, saying that news regarding his return to the Octagon would be announced in a few weeks at the latest.

On November 12, the UFC will make it’s long-awaited debut in New York City with UFC 205. Given that this event marks the organization’s first trip to The Big Apple, it unsurprisingly sought to fill the card’s lineup with New York based fighters. One of those fighters was Wantagh, New York’s Al Iaquinta, who was expected to welcome Thiago Alves to the lightweight division on the card. Unfortunately, Iaquinta and the UFC did not see eye-to-eye in terms of payment, and so, the fighter eventually withdrew from his bout with Alves, and was replaced by New Jersey’s Jim Miller.

Jose Aldo shocked the MMA world when he announced his intent to retire. After Conor McGregor’s fight win Eddie Alvarez was made official, the interim featherweight champion accused the UFC of going back on their word in offering him the McGregor rematch following Aldo’s win over Frankie Edgar at UFC 200. Aldo revealed that he has a meeting scheduled with UFC brass to discuss his future with the promotion, which according to Aldo himself doesn’t appear to bright.

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor may never fight in Las Vegas ever again. At his hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Monday for the UFC 202 pre-fight press conference water bottle fiasco against Nate Diaz and his team, McGregor was handed a $150,000 fine and ordered to 50 hours of community service for his involvement in the incident.

Earlier this month, a report surfaced that the daughter of legendary heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko had been attacked and hospitalized in Moscow, Russia. These reports were later confirmed by BloodyElbow.com. According to the initial report, Fedor’s daughter, who is just 16 years old, was assailed by unknown attackers on her walk home from school. After being admitted to the Research Institute of Children’s Emergency Surgery and Traumatology in Moscow, it was determined that the young Emelianenko had suffered a “contusion of the chest and abdomen,” – probably as the result of a kick to the chest.
