News was revealed on Monday that former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans was pulled from his scheduled fight against Tim Kennedy for the second time. Kennedy was a guest on Monday’s episode of The MMA Hour and said that he learned on Sunday that Evans was unable to get licensed by the Ontario Athletic Commission for their UFC 206 bout.

Earlier this year, former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida was yanked from a middleweight bout with Dan Henderson after he admitted that he’d consumed the banned substance 7-Keto-DHEA. Late last week, the former champ finally received his punishment for this incident: an 18-month suspension, retroactive to April 8, which means he won’t be able to compete again until October 2017. Machida’s suspension was reduced from the initially discussed two years because he admitted to consuming the substance, which was an ingredient in a supplement he was using. The key detail in all of this drama, however, is that he claims he did not know it was on USADA’s restricted list when he did so.

UFC officials just announced that Penn will be squaring off with Yair Rodriquez (9-1 MMA) in the main event of UFC Fight Night 103 which takes place January 15 at Phoenix’s Talking Stick Resort Arena.

Andre Ward is now being argued as the number 1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world after defeating Sergey Kovalev over the weekend. Ward won a unanimous decision over Kovalev in Las Vegas, Nevada to take three light heavyweight world title belts from the Russian boxer. However, there has been a bit of controversy in the extremely close fight as the 114-113 score from all three judges in favor of Ward could be argued to go the other way.

That’s precisely what happened on Sunday night, when Lesnar stepped into the WWE ring with Bill Goldberg. Moments into the match, Goldberg knocked the former UFC champ to the mat. As a bewildered Lesnar returned to his feet, Goldberg speared him back down onto the canvas. Then came a second spear, and a Jackhammer for the win. In August of this year, Lorenz “The Monsoon” Larkin mauled long-time welterweight contender Neil Magny to a first-round TKO. In doing so, he improved his welterweight record to a strong 4-1, and established himself as one of the division’s very best fighters – the seventh best, according to the UFC rankings. Larkin’s defeat of Magny was significant for more reasons than the way it thrust him into the welterweight top-10, however. It also marked the final fight on his UFC contract. Having fought out his contract, the top-ranked welterweight announced his plans to test his value as a free agent.

The next UFC fight card on the horizon is UFC Fight Night 101, which will emanate from sun-soaked Melbourne, Australia this coming Saturday (November 26). The card will be headlined by a middleweight contender showdown between Robert Whittaker and Derek Brunson – but this is not the headliner fans in Australia originally anticipated. Instead, the UFC’s return to Melbourne was initially supposed to be headlined by a middleweight bout between former champion Luke Rockhold and top-ranked contender Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza. The pair have met once before, back in 2011, and this time around, their clash could well have produced the next middleweight title challenger.
