Ilir Latifi hints at future move to heavyweight, wants fight with Brock Lesnar

As the UFC’s 11th ranked light heavyweight, Sweden’s Ilir Latifi is undeniably one of the best light heavyweights in the world. At just 5’10, however, he’s also one of the division’s shorter fighters. Given his short stature, many fans have suggested that Latifi would be wise to drop from the light heavyweight division to the middleweight division. In a Sunday morning post to Instagram, however, Latifi explained that he’s far more likely to head north to the heavyweight division than he is to cut down to middleweight.
Report: Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw to serve as coaches for TUF 25 all-star cast

According to a report from MMANewsline.com, the upcoming, 25th instalment of The Ultimate Fighter will be coached by new bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt, and estranged former Team Alpha Male stablemate TJ Dillashaw. This report claims to have confirmed the two bantamweights as the TUF 25 coaches with sources close to Team Alpha Male and several rumored TUF 25 cast members. The cast for this upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter will be composed of veterans of the UFC, The Ultimate Fighter, and apparently, several current UFC fighters. These experienced fighters will be competing in the welterweight division.

Amanda Nunes eyes gold in two divisions

Not long ago, former women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm suggested that, if she wins her upcoming featherweight title fight with Germaine de Randamie, she’d then like to challenge Amanda Nunes for bantamweight gold. If she were to defeat Nunes in this prospective showdown, she’d join Conor McGregor as one of just two fighters in UFC history to hold titles in two weight classes concurrently. As it turns out, however, Nunes has similar hopes for her career. On Saturday evening, Nunes took to Twitter to request a shot at the winner of Holm and De Randamie’s looming featherweight title showdown, explaining that she too would like to enter the history books as a two-division UFC champion.

Current UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley will return to the octagon on March 4 in Las Vegas where he will rematch top contender Stephen Thompson in the main event of UFC 209. Thompson and Woodley first met at this past November’s UFC 205 event in New York, and after a five-round war the title fight was ruled a majority draw by the judges in attendance.

With talks of a potential Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather boxing match currently dominating headlines in both the MMA community and the boxing community, everyone wants a piece of the action! To kick off 2017, Mayweather made McGregor an offer to fight for $15 million. UFC President Dana White was quick to make an appearance on ‘The Herd’, where he made Mayweather a formal offer of $25 million to fight, explaining that the pair could discuss how the PPV sales would be split. Mayweather was quick to respond, calling White a “comedian” for what he believed to be a low-ball offer.

Talks have seriously heated up in regards to a potential Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather boxing match in 2017. To kick off the year, Mayweather made McGregor a fight offer, offering the UFC superstar $15 million to fight, while leaving the door open to potentially giving the UFC lightweight champ a cut of the PPV sales. That offer didn’t sit too well with UFC President Dana White, who appeared on ‘The Herd’ this week to offer Mayweather $25 million to fight McGregor, while saying that the pair could talk about how the PPV sales would be split. Mayweather laughed off White’s offer, reiterating that he wouldn’t fight for less than $100 million, a figure he had mentioned consistently throughout the course of the last several months.

After Conor McGregor captured the UFC lightweight championship at UFC 205 by defeating Eddie Alvarez in a brilliant performance that resulted in a 2nd round TKO loss for Alvarez, all signs pointed to Khabib Nurmagomedov receiving the next lightweight title shot after his dominant 3rd round submission win over Michael Johnson. Following the event, McGregor announced that he would need to take several months off from fighting due to the upcoming birth of his firstborn child in May. In the meantime, the UFC has officially announced that lightweight #1 contender Khabib Nurmagomedov would be fighting Tony Ferguson for the interim lightweight championship at UFC 209 on March 4th.
