The octagon will return to Dallas, Texas on May 13 for UFC 211. The pay-per-view event is headlined by a heavyweight title fight rematch featuring current champ Stipe Miocic taking on former title holder Junior dos Santos. Miocic and dos Santos first met in December of 2014 with the Brazilian emerging victorious via unanimous decision in what was a very close fight.

BJ Penn – Greg Jackson and Jason Parillo are not to blame for Yair Rodriguez booking UFC legend BJ “The Prodigy” Penn will return to the octagon on June 25 in Oklahoma City to battle fellow veteran Dennis Siver on the main card of UFC Fight Night 112.

The octagon will return to Buffalo on April 8 for UFC 210, a pay-per-view event headlined by a light heavyweight title fight rematch featuring current champion Daniel Cormier taking on top division contender Anthony “Rumble” Johnson. Cormier and Johnson first met at UFC 187 in 2015, where Cormier was able to weather some early adversity and eventually score a submission victory over Johnson.

Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman is 100% certain that a boxing match between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather is going to happen. “So Mayweather and McGregor is going to happen. 100 percent. That’s a fact,” Weidman told Mike ‘Gunz’ Gunzelman in a recent interview (as transcribed by MMAMania. “I was just like everybody else. I thought it was a joke of a fight. Obviously McGregor has no chance in that fight. But everyone’s still going to pay to watch it because it’s Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor is going to talk. He’s going to say things to Floyd Mayweather that no one has ever said to him before. He’s going to have Floyd Mayweather’s head spinning. It’s going to be insane. It’s going to be an amazing event.”

This bout will mark a rematch of a fun 2014 scrap, which saw Cormier weather an early storm to lock up a rear-naked choke for the win.

Though nothing is confirmed just yet, it’s very possible that new UFC women’s featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie’s first title defense could be against destructive MMA superstar Cris “Cyborg” Justino. If this is indeed the way things unfold, De Randamie will likely enter the fight as a substantial underdog. According to beloved MMA veteran Bas Rutten, however, De Randamie should not be discounted in this potential title fight. On a recent episode of The MMA Hour, the fighter-turned-commentator explained that he was impressed by De Randamie in her title-winning defeat of Holly Holm, and that he believes she stands a good chance against Cyborg.

Now some six months removed from this disappointing retirement fight, Henderson recently told MMAFighting.com that he’s still got a bad taste in his mouth from it.

In the main event of this card, which emanated from beautiful Stockholm, Sweden, we saw two UFC veterans collide for the organization’s middleweight crown. In one corner was Sweden’s own Papy Abedi. In the other, was New Zealand’s Dylan Andrews. This bout was a rematch of an August 2013 bout, which saw Andrews win by third round knockout.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has certainly had a long and storied rivalry with current light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. The pair’s rivalry began several years ago, and escalated to an all new level when the pair were involved in their infamous press conference brawl. While the pair have been scheduled to fight on several occasions, they have only met in the Octagon once, where Jones earned a unanimous decision over his rival. Most recently, the pair were set to fight at UFC 200 in July of 2016, however just 48 hours prior to the fight Jones was notified of a USADA anti-doping violation. While ‘Bones’ was cleared of any wrongdoing when it was discovered that the failure was the result of a tainted supplement, he was still handed a year-long suspension.

In 2016, former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar stepped into the Octagon for the first time in nearly 5 years to fight heavyweight veteran Mark Hunt at UFC 200. Lesnar’s return was one that was quickly criticized after he was given an exemption from the first three months of mandatory USADA testing prior to the fight. While USADA was quick to swoop in and begin testing the former champ at a high frequency, it wasn’t until after the fight that Lesnar was flagged for an anti-doping violation. In addition to his fight night drug test being flagged, Lesnar had a random pre-fight, out-of-competition sample flagged for banned substances as well.

Early in 2017, news surfaced that former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre would be returning to the Octagon to fight middleweight champion Michael Bisping. UFC President Dana White confirmed the news, and both Bisping and St-Pierre appeared at a press conference for the scrap. With that being said, there was no date given for the bout, leading many to wonder when it would take place. Apparently Michael Bisping felt the same way, because the champ released a statement in which he threatened to take St-Pierre’s title shot back and give it to middleweight #1 contender Yoel Romero.
