This past weekend at UFC 210, UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier defended his light heavyweight championship for the second time as he picked up a 2nd round submission win over Anthony Johnson in a highly anticipated affair. With that being said, there was quite a bit of controversy leading up to the fight given that Cormier missed weight on his first attempt, before then weighing-in just moments later 1.2 pounds lighter than he had been moments before.

When Rousey returned to the Octagon she did so against reigning champion, Amanda Nunes, who was looking to build momentum on her impressive 4-fight win streak that had seen her go unbeaten for nearly two years. When the pair stepped into the Octagon in Las Vegas, it took just 48 seconds for Nunes to hand Rousey her second straight professional loss.

The winner of this fight could well earn the next crack at the winner of Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Jessica Andrade’s UFC 211 title fight – at least, that’s what the champ Jedrzejczyk thinks. “I believe that the winner of the fight between Michelle Waterson and Rose Namajunas will be my next opponent,” the champ told Fox Sports. “I will be watching this fight.”

The loss to Bisping not only saw him lose the middleweight title, but also snapped a 5-fight win streak that spanned back to just Rockhold’s second UFC fight, and saw him finish five straight opponents, including Chris Weidman to win the UFC title. Now, with fellow former middleweight champion Anderson Silva without an opponent for his upcoming UFC 212 scrap after Kelvin Gastelum was pulled from the scrap due to a USADA violation for marijuana, Rockhold has informed Padlokt that he plans to step in to fight Anderson Silva.

In the main event of UFC 210 this past weekend, UFC light heavyweight contender Anthony Johnson stepped into the Octagon with light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier for a highly anticipated rematch two years in the making. When the fight started, many expected Johnson to look to score one of his signature highlight reel knockouts, however ‘Rumble’ surprised fans by opting to wrestle with Cormier, a former Olympian. This strategy proved to be an unsuccessful one for Johnson as he was submitted in the second round in similar fashion to his first loss to Cormier two years ago.
