Tom Taylor - October 23, 2017
Viral videos of martial artists grappling with bodybuilders are nothing new. Every time it seems as though the internet has had i’s fill of this bizarre brand of spectacle, a new video surfaces, showing an ill-trained behemoth attempting to bulldoze a calm, collected grappling specialist, and usually getting tapped out. The video begins with some extremely light sparring and rolling, as Northcutt appears to give his hulking adversary some tips. Toward the end of the video, the pair turn up the heat. From there, the showdown quickly hits the canvas, at which point Northcutt grabs a dominant position, and helps Awodibu to his feet for a typically chipper handshake.

MMA legend Takanori Gomi hints at UFC departure, move to different promotion
Tom Taylor - October 23, 2017
When PRIDE legend Takanori Gomi arrived in the UFC back in 2010, he was viewed as a legitimate threat to then champion BJ Penn, and to all of the lightweights on the UFC roster. Unfortunately, the Japanese MMA icon’s UFC career has been a significant disappointment. Barring a few impressive moments, like a 2010 KO of Tyson Griffin, and a 2014 war with Isaac Vallie-Flagg, Gomi has looked quite unspectacular in the Octagon. Most recently, he’s endured a brutal stretch of losses, having been stopped by Myles Jury, Joe Lauzon, Jim Miller, Jon Tuck and “Maestro” Dong Hyun Kim in his last five bouts.

He was replaced by Fabricio Werdum. Unsurprisingly, Hunt is not happy that he was pulled from this fight and deprived of the resulting payday. Since it all went down, he’s berated the UFC for this move.
