Shortly after his UFC 206 submission loss to Misha Cirkunov, Ukrainian light heavyweight talent Nikita Krylov parted ways with the UFC. Given Krylov’s history of delivering incredible finishes in the Octagon, and his commendable 6-3 Octagon record, the UFC received quite a bit of flack for letting him go. The good news is that it sounds like he could be back in the Octagon quite soon.

Fan favorite welterweight contender Donald Cerrone has fallen into a bit of a rough patch, having lost 4 of his last five fights. That said, it sounds like there’s still plenty more “Cowboy” to come. Shortly after his latest loss, a Saturday decision defeat courtesy of Leon Edwards, Cerrone updated on his retirement plans, explaining that he’ll fight until the UFC sits him down for “the talk.”

Mickey Gall, who holds wins over both Mike Jackson and CM Punk, was not impressed by the pair’s fight on the UFC 225 main card. Though he was quite excited to watch them go at it, he was ultimately disappointed with their bout. “I was psyched for that fight,” Gall said in a recent interview with MMA Fighting (via MMAMania). “I thought they were going to lay it all on the line, really go for it and try and take each other out. I was disappointed in Michael Jackson. I didn’t think he had the urgency that he should’ve. I think he was a little lackadaisical. I think that fight went like 15 minutes too long. I was really disappointed in it to be honest.”

The scorecards for the fight were marred in controversy after two of the judges in attendance scored the fight 49-46 for the hometown favorite Darren Till, this while the majority of the mixed martial arts community appeared to have scored the bout 48-47 in favor of Thompson.

According to a report from ESPN, former Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler’s current Bellator contract is set to expire “imminently.” This news has generated a tidal wave of excitement among fans who are interested in seeing Chandler, long considered one of the world’s premier lightweights, move to the UFC’s Octagon where a bevy of fresh matchups await. According to ESPN’s report, however, Chandler and his team are currently engaged in “productive” negotiations with Bellator, which would seem to imply a high likelihood of his re-signing with the promotion. That said, the report also mentions that Chandler is willing to see what other promotions are prepared to offer too.

According to Tristar head coach Firas Zahabi, former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is likely to have sustained a concussion just two weeks out from his battle with Dan Hardy. Zahabi believes St-Pierre sustained this injury in a sparring session. Worried that ending this sparring session could diminish St-Pierre’s confidence, however, Zahabi allowed it continue — with a stipulation. He explained on a recent appearance on the JRE MMA Show.
