UFC Vegas 85 Results: Nassourdine Imavov defeats Roman Dolidze (Highlights)

We have you covered for all of tonight’s UFC Vegas 85 results, including the main event between Roman Dolidze and Nassourdine Imavov.

Dolidze (12-2 MMA) will enter tonight’s main event looking to rebound, this after suffering a controversial decision loss to Marvin Vettori in his most recent effort ten months ago. Prior to that setback, ‘The Caucasian’ had put together a four-fight winning streak, which included knockout victories over Kyle Daukaus, Phil Hawes and Jack Hermansson.

Meanwhile, Nassourdine Imavov (12-4 MMA) most recently competed at June’s UFC 289 event in Vancouver, where his fight with Chris Curtis ended a no-contest after an accidental clash of heads rendered ‘The Action Man’ unable to continue. Prior to that, the Frenchman was coming off a unanimous decision loss to former middleweight champion Sean Strickland.

Round one of the UFC Vegas 85 main event begins and Nassourdine Imavov immediatley gets to work with his jab. Roman Dolidze with a nice low kick. Both men with low kicks now. Another good jab from Imavov. He looks to come over the top with a right hand. Dolidze avoids and forces the clinch. He pushes Imavov up against the cage. The Frenchman with a nice elbow while his back is pressed up to the fence. He looks to break free from the clinch, but Dolidze won’t let him. Another attempt to break the hold and this time Imavov is free. He immediately lands a pair of good low kicks. Roman Dolidze leaps in with a left hand. Imavov answers with a sharp right. He lands another. Good kicks now and then another big right hand. Dolidze is rocked. He goes down and Nassourdine Imavov swarms him with ground and pound. Herb Dean is letting this go for now. It appears Dolidze is looking for a knee. He can’t get it and now Imavov is on his back. He rolls for an armbar but Roman is able to survive and hear the horn.

Round two of the UFC Vegas 85 main event begins and Nassourdine Imavov lands a big punch right off the hop. Roman Dolidze circles and then leaps into the pocket with a combination. Ivavov avoids and then comes forward with some good punches. Dolidze forces the clinch and pushes the Frenchman up against the cage. Roman with some short knees to the thighs of Imavov. This will give him a chance to recover from the onslaught of punches he took in round one. Dolidze looks for a takedown, but it is not there. Imavov reverses the position and then breaks free from the clinch. Nassourdine Imavov with a good low kick. Roman Dolidze quickly initiates the clinch and pushes Imavov back against the fence. He lands some foot stomps before the referee steps in and breaks them up. Dolidze with a nice right. Imavov with a good counter 1-2. The horn sounds to end the second round.

Round three of the UFC Vegas 85 main event begins and Imavov gets to work with his jab and some good low kicks. Roman Dolidze looks to force the clinch and is able to do so. The fight is back up against the cage, but this time it is Dolidze who is pressed up along the fence. Nassourdine Imavov with a hard body kick and then a nice elbow. The fighters separate and Imavov lands a jab. Dolidze with a low kick. Imavov replies with a jab and then a good right hand. He clips Roman with another big right hand. Dolidze is able to once again force the clinch and push Imavov against the cage. His corner is screaming for a takedown, but Dolidze is exhausted. Two minutes remain in the round. Herb Dean is calling for action as the fighter’s dance along the cage. Imavov shakes free and immediately lands a hard kick to the body. He follows that up with a big right hand and then a knee. Dolidze forces the clinch but is getting grilled by the referee. Herb Dean steps in and forces the break. Roman Dolidze with a 1-2. Nassourdine Imavov goes upstairs with a high kick. The horn sounds to end round three.

Round four of the UFC Vegas 85 headliner begins and both men fire off combinations to start. Roman Dolidze forces the clinch and Herb Dean is right back on him telling the middleweight to “work”. Nassourdine Imavov looks to take the back of his opponent. He throws a kick and Dolidze goes down. Was Roman’s hand down? The referee steps in to call a stop to the action. The kick was deemed illegal and Imavov will be deducted a point. We restart and Dolidze is able to secure a quick takedown. He is working from full guard position. This is a huge turn of events as Dolidze is finally in his wheelhouse. However, it is short lived, as Nassourdine is already back up to his feet. Roman keeps him pressed against the cage. Herb calls for action as we get to the one-minute mark. The fighters break and Imavov lands a good combination. Nassourdine is able to get to the back of Dolidze and lands a hard right hand. The fighers move back to the clinch and the horn sounds to end round four.

The fifth and final round begins and Nassourdine Imavov comes out with a nice 1-2. Roman Dolidze looks to force the clinch. Imavov shakes him off and lands a hard kick to the body. The fight hits the floor and Dolidze looks to secure a toe hold. Imavov avoids and lands a big elbow. That appeared to rock Dolidze but the Frenchman did not appear to notice. Back to fighting in the clinch along the fence. One minute remains and Imavov lands a right hand. Dolidze shoots for a takedown, but it is not there. Punches from the top by Nassourdine. He lands a good left hook to close out the fight.
