Tyron Woodley says Georges St-Pierre should be honest on reason for his comeback
Russell Ess - August 7, 2017
After nearly four years away from competition, Georges St-Pierre is expected to return to the Octagon in November. Not only will St-Pierre be returning to fight in the UFC, the former welterweight champion is looking to jump up a weight class and take on UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping. If victorious against Bisping, St-Pierre will be among the few who have won UFC titles in two divisions, which include Randy Couture, BJ Penn, and Conor McGregor. While legacy and records are one thing, UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley says GSP has another motive for his comeback and should just be open about it with his fans.

Michael Bisping: Cormier gave Jones the "ultimate revenge" by crying post-fight
Tom Taylor - August 2, 2017
Last Saturday, Daniel Cormier lost the UFC light heavyweight title to his fiercest rival Jon Jones, succumbing to a third-round head-kick and followup punches. Shortly after this emotional loss, during his ill-advised Octagon interview with Joe Rogan, Cormier broke down in tears. In the opinion of UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping, Cormier should have done his best to hold back his tears until he got backstage. Crying out in the open, Bisping suggested, gave Jones just the revenge he was looking for. “Cormier shouldn’t have done that,” Bisping said on his podcast Believe You Me (h/t Jed Meshew of MMAFighting.com) . “I thought it was bad because – listen, I’ve never cried when I’ve lost a fight, that’s not what I’m saying though. What I’m saying is because how much they dislike one another, and for as classy as Jon Jones could be inside the octagon, don’t tell me that that wasn’t the ultimate f**king revenge for Jon Jones to see D.C. crying. So what I mean is that the way he should have handled that better is to save that for the private moments.

Tom Taylor - July 25, 2017
Earlier this year – to the distaste of seemingly everyone – former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre was pencilled in for a middleweight title shot against champ Michael Bisping, jumping a crowded line of established middleweight contenders in the process. This news generated a tidal wave of controversy and debate, but was ultimately rendered irrelevant, as St-Pierre, Bisping, and the UFC, couldn’t seem to agree on a date for the fight, and the UFC axed the plan altogether. The promotion then went ahead with a Robert Whittaker vs. Yoel Romero interim middleweight title fight, which went down earlier this month in the main event of UFC 213. When Whittaker won this fight by decision, he was expected to be the next man to challenge Bisping, and normalcy seemed to be returning to the division. Unfortunately, news then surfaced that Whittaker will be sidelined with injuries until 2018, which once again opened the door for discussions of a St-Pierre vs. Bisping fight…

The fight was a particularly impressive one for Whittaker, as he fought through a knee injury to defeat Romero via decision. While UFC President Dana White stated prior to the fight that the winner of the fight would go on to fight Michael Bisping for the undisputed title, the morning of UFC 213, former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre texted both Dana White and Michael Bisping formally requesting a fight with Bisping. Scott Hernandez - July 6, 2017
Earlier this year, the UFC announced that former welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre was coming out of retirement to challenge middleweight champion Michael Bisping for the middleweight title. Despite the fact that the promotion held a press conference for the event, a deal was never finalized, and no date was ever given for the fight. After an eye injury forced Georges St-Pierre to postpone, Bisping then revealed that he was having complications from a knee injury, and would be unable to fight GSP in the first half of the year.
Michael Bisping roasts Yoel Romero with savage Instagram post
Tom Taylor - July 6, 2017
UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping is not a fan of UFC 213 interim middleweight title challenger Yoel Romero. In fact, the champ has publicly stated that he hopes Romero loses decisively to his UFC 213 opponent Robert Whittaker. “Whittaker, we all know this, he’s on an absolute tear. I’ve got nothing against Robert Whittaker,” Bisping said on a May episode of his podcast. “Fine young man, great fighter, fights hard, got a lot of respect for him. Can’t say the same about Yoel. Yoel is certainly not on my Christmas card list. We all know my thoughts on him. He’s a scumbag, he’s a cheat, and that’s that. So if they do fight I, hope Whittaker beats the brains out of him.”
