Tom Taylor - May 23, 2017
The Michael Bisping vs. Georges St-Pierre saga has been one of the most confusing and controversial in recent memory. One moment, it seemed as though the fight would happen this summer. The next, it looked like a possibility for the fall. Now, with St-Pierre out till November and the UFC to keen to keep the middleweight division moving, it looks like it might not go down at all – which would of course be great news for the many top middleweight contenders who felt they were being deprived of title shots by St-Pierre’s comeback. On the latest episode of his Podcast, Believe You Me, Bisping gave yet another update on this fight. Apparently the champ now believes the UFC wants to move on from this fight. He, however, won’t be ready to fight any time soon, which has him believing the UFC will implement an interim middleweight title fight.
Michael Bisping reacts to Dana White saying GSP fight is canceled
Tom Taylor - May 17, 2017
For a time, UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping was next expected to defend his title against former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre. Given that St-Pierre has not fought in many years, and that he’s never fought in the middleweight division before, this booking was met with widespread criticism. Luckily for those fans and fighters that disapproved of this fight, the plan has been nixed. Though Bisping hoped the fight would occur sometime this summer, St-Pierre recently came out and announced that he would’t be able to fight until November or later. This prompted UFC President Dana White to scrap this undeniably lucrative plan, and award the next middleweight title shot to the far more deserving Yoel Romero.

Former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre is currently gearing up for his 2017 return to the Octagon, which will see him challenge Michael Bisping for the UFC middleweight title after three years away from the Octagon. While the UFC announced earlier this year that a Bisping vs. St-Pierre fight will take place at some point this year, it has not been announced when St-Pierre and Bisping will fight for the title. Jorge Masvidal bashes "faker" Michael Bisping, says nobody listens to his podcast
Tom Taylor - May 3, 2017
Since he became the UFC middleweight champion with a shocking, first-round knockout of Luke Rockhold, Michael Bisping has generated quite a bit of controversy for chasing lucrative “money fights” over fights with the middleweight division’s top contenders. His taking fights with opponents like Dan Henderson and Georges St-Pierre has generated backlash from fighters like Yoel Romero, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, Luke Rockhold, Chris Weidman, Tyron Woodley, and others. You can now add streaking welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal to the list of fighters who are unimpressed by Bisping’s alleged unwillingness to fight the middleweight division’s top contenders. On Tuesday night, Masvidal took to Twitter explaining that he’d received some heat from Bisping for not wanting to be on his “14 person total audience” podcast, Believe You Me. Apparently, this prompted a response from Bisping. This response drove Masvidal to call Bisping out for “avoiding everybody that’s a threat” and being the “only champ that does not fight top ten contenders.”

UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has been competing in the UFC for over ten years now. During that time, Bisping climbed the UFC rankings, before ultimately winning the middleweight championship nearly a year ago. Given his familiarity with the UFC, and experience in dealing with the promotion, Bisping feels as though it isn’t wise for UFC lightweight Al Iaquinta to repeatedly put his employers on blast in the media for not giving him a post-fight bonus for his recent ‘UFC Fight Night: Nashville’ scrap.
