Matt Mitrione goes off on ‘King Mo’ in profanity-ridden tirade

By Tom Taylor - May 9, 2018

This weekend, in the main event of Bellator 199, current Bellator light heavyweight champ Ryan Bader will battle former Strikeforce champ Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal in the final first-round matchup of the promotion’s exciting Heavyweight Grand Prix. The winner will then collide with Matt Mitrione, who defeated Roy Nelson to advance to the second round, later this year.

Matt Mitrione, Bellator 215

Speaking to MMAjunkie this week, Mitrione discussed this Bader vs. King Mo matchup. Apparently, he’s got nothing but respect for Bader. King Mo, meanwhile, isn’t exactly his favorite person.

“‘Mo’ needs to worry about Bader,” Mitrione said in a rant that required more censorship than the most venomous of Dana White’s tirades. “‘Mo’ is going to get the (expletive) kicked out of him by Bader. If he wants to (expletive) with me, tell ‘Mo’ to worry about his own ass. Tell ‘Mo’ to delete that stupid (expletive) grill out of his mouth so you can understand what he (expletive) says. If he wants to come by, I’ll shut that mother(expletive) up with an ass-whooping as soon as I see his (expletive) ass. (Expletive) him, (expletive) Roy Nelson and (expletive) that whole crew. Bader is going to whip his ass, so it’s not even a thought anyway. (Expletive) ‘Mo.’”

That’s a lot of expletives…

Matt Mitrione has not lost since joining the Bellator roster in June of 2016. In that time, he’s defeated Carl Seumanutafa, Oli Thompson and Fedor Emelianenko by knockout, and Nelson by decision. He’s 13-5 overall.

Mo, meanwhile, has not fought in over a year. In his last bout, he defeated Quinton “Rampage” Jackson by decision. This victory was preceded by a knockout loss to Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, a decision defeat of Satoshi Ishii and a close decision loss to Phil Davis. He’s 21-6 overall.

Do you think we’ll see King Mo and Matt Mitrione fight in the second round of the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix?
