Khamzat Chimaev has issued a harsh warning to Sean Strickland ahead of UFC 328.

Chimaev is set to defend his middleweight title in the main event of UFC 328 on May 9 in Newark, New Jersey. Heading into the bout, Chimaev is a sizable betting favorite, and he not only expects to beat Strickland but also to dominate him. And,

“I don’t want to kill a man,” Chimaev said in a vlog uploaded by Adam Zubayraev, via MMAFighting. “Haram. … No. They wouldn’t let me kill him there anyway. Out on the street, that’s different—if he dies, he dies. But in the cage, it’s sport.”

It’s a harsh warning from Chimaev, as he hints at doing serious damage to Strickland to prove he is so much better than the American. And, he wants to silence Strickland after all the talk he has done before the fight.

Khamzat Chimaev doesn’t care how he beats Sean Strickland

Although Chimaev vows to do serious damage to Strickland, he doesn’t care how he gets his hand raised.

Instead, Chimaev said he’s just focused on getting his hand raised and defending his middleweight title to show how good he is.

“Honestly, I don’t think about that at all,” Chimaev said. “I’m just training for now. Whatever happens, happens. … I always picture victory, but only the Almighty knows how it will happen. By any means.”

If Chimaev does get his hand raised, it would be a big win and would be the first defense of his middleweight title. And, it could lead to him eventually moving up to light heavyweight and pursuing a second belt, which Chimaev has shown interest in.

Khamzat Chimaev enters UFC 328 with a record of 15-0. He’s coming off a decision win over Dricus du Plessis last August to win the belt. Before that, he scored a submission win over Robert Whittaker.
