“I’d rather fight Khabib [Nurmagomedov] to be honest. Just because…people see him as just this unstoppable tank. Ya know, Conor [McGregor’s] already got a couple losses on there. So Conor takes it away from me.

To be the one to get rid of that 0… Something like that only comes around once in a lifetime. Especially with a guy like Khabib. I just see him, I’m a lion myself. When I see that meal I gotta go for it.”

When it comes to the lightweight division, there are really no wrong fights to make. Every fighter matches up awesomely with the next.

That said, every fighter and their mother will be having their eyes glued to the upcoming monster title fight for the 155-pound division that takes place at UFC 229 in October. Obviously, this fight is none other than current champion Khabib Nurmagomedov vs former champion Conor McGregor.

One of the more interested parties is one of the top contenders, Kevin ‘The Mo-Town Phenom’ Lee.

Lee has no fights booked at the moment but is eying a showdown with former champion Anthony Pettis and looks to stay ready for UFC 229 in case somebody falls out of the bout.

Although Lee believes that McGregor will likely get the job done against Nurmagomedov, he still would prefer to fight the current champion as he’s been calling him out for years now.

The last time we saw Lee it was in an ultra-impressive rebound performance against Edson Barboza in April.

Lee came in after a disappointing interim title fight loss to Tony Ferguson at UFC 216 and looked better than he ever has.

The Las Vegas resident dominated Barboza and smothered him to land nasty ground and pound over the course of five rounds until the doctors stopped it in the fifth round.
