Frankie Edgar taunt Jose Aldo over history of injuries ahead of UFC 200

Former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo has been criticized quite a bit for backing out of fights with injuries. Most recently, Aldo backed out of his title fight with Conor McGregor at UFC 189, and was replaced by Chad Mendes.

With a false rumor surfacing earlier this week that Aldo was injured and unable to fight Frankie Edgar for the interim featherweight championship at UFC 200 on July 9th, Edgar decided to poke some fun at the former champ in an interview with Fox Sports:

“We were supposed to fight earlier and he had a little boo-boo on his foot from a motorcycle accident and we had to reschedule. I highly doubt he’s ever fought injured,” said Edgar in a recent interview with FOX Sports. “If he did, he must fight injured all the time because how much does this guy pull out of fights?”

“I’m just trying to focus on him but I won’t be surprised if that happens, obviously,” added Edgar. “You’re seeing it happen in every weight class, not just us, but especially with Aldo. Anything can happen.”
