Francis Ngannou breaks down Alex Pereira vs. Ciryl Gane UFC fight

Francis Ngannou has shared his thoughts on the upcoming UFC fight between Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane. It’s fair to say he’s made some interesting points.

Ngannou is the former UFC heavyweight champion. He left the promotion without losing the belt several years back, which means he remains the lineal heavyweight champion of MMA.

Things have been chaotic in the UFC heavyweight division since Ngannou left. The latest turbulent saga started when champion Tom Aspinall suffered a brutal eye injury in a fight with Gane. With Aspinall recovering on the sidelines, the UFC opted to match Gane up with Alex Pereira, with the interim belt on the line. The fight will co-headline the UFC White House event on June 14.

In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Ngannou shared his thoughts on the Pereira vs. Gane fight. Having defeated Gane by five-round unanimous decision in the past, his viewpoint is certainly interesting.

See what he had to say below:

Francis Ngannou: Ciryl Gane will be ‘very difficult’ for Alex Pereira to beat at UFC White House

“It’s going to be very difficult for Alex Pereira to even get close to the distance to figure out what he can do,” Ngannou said. “Ciryl Gane moves a lot, he’s fast, and Pereira will be more stiff, stable, and strong, solid.”

Clearly, Ngannou is leaning toward his former opponent Gane. That makes sense. Gane is going to be considerably bigger and probably stronger than Pereira, who is a former UFC champ at light heavyweight and middleweight, and will be making his heavyweight debut for the fight.

Ngannou is set to return to action against fellow UFC outcast Philipe Lins on May 16. The bout will co-headline the first ever MMA Netflix card on Netflix, along with Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano, and Nate Diaz vs. Mike Perry.

Are you with Ngannou on this one? Or do you think Pereira has a shot?
