Despite being one of the most popular fighters on the UFC roster, Stockton, California’s Nate Diaz has not been seen in the cage since he gave up a competitive decision to Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 202 back in August. In a recent interview with TMZ, UFC President Dana White said that the UFC has attempted to correct Diaz’s long absence from the cage by making him several fight offers, but that he has turned them all down. The UFC boss then suggested that this is because Diaz is holding out for a third fight with McGregor.

Conflicting reports have continued to emerge regarding the status of a potential Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather superfight, with UFC President Dana White, and undefeated prizefighter Floyd Mayweather denying reports of a nearly being finalized. Given this, fight fans have been left to wonder if a fight between McGregor & Mayweather will ever materialize. This week, Dana White stated in an interview that he now believed a fight between Mayweather and McGregor would happen, however according to Fox Sports’ Skip Bayless, White was merely calling Mayweather’s bluff.

It’s no secret that UFC President Dana White and UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz certainly have their fair share of animosity dating back many years. At one point in time, the two men were set to step into a boxing ring to settle their beef, however despite months of training on both men’s side, and the event making it all the way up to weigh-ins, the NSAC forced their way into the matter, demanding that they oversee the bout. Ultimately, the exhibition boxing match was scrapped.

Throughout the course of 2017, conflicting reports have continued to emerge regarding the status of a potential Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather superfight in the boxing ring. While Mayweather and the UFC President both made one another offers, neither offer was pleasing to both men, and as a result talks appeared to die down. Shortly after however, the NSAC confirmed that while a fight was still far off from being finalized, negotiations between the two parties were ongoing. This has then been followed up by several conflicting reports of whether or not a fight was close, with both Mayweather and White saying that a fight was far from official.

In the main event of UFC 209, UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley retained his welterweight strap in a rather controversial performance against welterweight #1 contender Stephen Thompson as he was awarded a majority decision. Many, including UFC President Dana White scored the bout 3 rounds to 2, with Stephen Thompson being the winner. With that being said, the judges scorecards revealed that one judge scored the 5th round 10-8 for Tyron Woodley, resulting in that scorecard being a draw, rather than a decision for Stephen Thompson.

Last night, in the main event of UFC 209, welterweight champion Tyron Woodley scored a majority decision win over challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, who he first fought to a majority draw back in November. While Woodley’s win was extremely important for his career, however, it was not particularly thrilling. The slow nature of Woodley and Thompson’s welterweight title rematch generated ample criticism from many notable members of the MMA community, including UFC President Dana White. Woodley, unsurprisingly, was not especially pleased with these comments from the UFC boss. The champ fired back at the UFC 209 post-fight press conference, defending his strategy in the fight, and challenging White to step into the cage and fight Thompson.

Back in November, in the co-main event of UFC 205, welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson battled to a thrilling majority draw. With this result, Woodley hung onto the welterweight crown – though surely not in the fashion he had hoped. Last night, in the main event of UFC 209, Woodley and Thompson met again, with the goal of producing a clearer, more decisive result. Unfortunately, this welterweight title rematch was perhaps even closer than the pair’s first fight.

Friday afternoon, unfortunate news surfaced that UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov had been taken to the hospital. This report was promptly followed by another one which revealed that Khabib had been pulled from the fight. Unfortunately, with Nurmagomedov off the card, the UFC opted to also pull Tony Ferguson from the card, leaving fight fans with no co-main event. Since then, the promotion announced that Lando Vannata vs. David Teymur had been promoted to the co-main event.

The UFC is looking to have Mark Hunt’s lawsuit against the company and UFC President Dana White thrown out in court. Following the announcement of Brock Lesnar’s failed USADA drug test, Hunt made it known that he wanted to be compensated for fighting another cheating opponent in his UFC career. Hunt first asked for half of Lesnar’s fight purse then changed his mind to demanding Lesnar’s entire fight purse that he received for his fight against Hunt at UFC 200. The UFC did not come through with Hunt’s financial demands and filed a lawsuit against the UFC, Dana White and Brock Lesnar.

UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has made several bold claims leading up to his UFC 209 welterweight title fight with Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson this Saturday. The most controversial being his claim that his lack of popularity is in-part due to his race, which he believes plays a role in why UFC flyweight kingpin Demetrious Johnson doesn’t receive the push he deserves from the UFC. That rant didn’t sit too well with UFC President Dana White, who called Woodley a “drama queen”:
