UFC 329 Results: Mario Bautista defeats Cory Sandhagen (Highlights)

We have you covered for all of tonight’s UFC 329 results, including the men’s bantamweight bout between Cory Sandhagen and Mario Bautista.

Sandhagen (18-7 MMA) most previously took to the Octagon at UFC 320, where he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Merab Dvalishvili for the promotion’s bantamweight title. Prior to that setback, ‘The Sandman’ had defeated former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo via TKO.

Meanwhile, Mario Bautista (18-3 MMA) was last seen in action this past February, where he scored a submission win over Vinicius Oliveira. Prior to that triumph, the 33-year-old as coming off a decision loss to Umar Nurmagomedov.

Round one begins and Mario Bautista throws out a low kick but it is caught by Cory Sandhagen. The fighters trade body kicks. ‘The Sandman’ lands another. Bautista looks to go upstairs with a high kick that partially connects. The fighters clinch. Sandhagen with an elbow on the break. Cory with a low kick. Mario answers with one of his own. A good exchange of punches in the pocket. Another good exchange. Mario Bautista with a hard low kick. He scores a takedown and locks up a leg lock. This is tight. Cory Sandhagen survives but limps back to his corner.

Round two of this UFC 329 bantamweight bout begins and Cory Sandhagen may have endured a knee injury at the end of the opening round. He still appears to be moving ok. Mario Bautista with a nice combination. He’s starting to get the better of the former title challenger. Sandhagen with a nice shot. Bautista with a good counter. Another nice exchange from distance. The horn sounds to end round two.

The third and final round begins and Mario Bautista lands a big left and Cory Sandhagen goes down. Mario jumps all over him with ground and pound. Cory looks for a leg. He locks up a hold which allows him to scramble back to his feet. Bautista quickly shoots in and scores another takedown. He’s starting to overwhelm Sandhagen here. Cory keeps scrambling up, but it only last a second as Mario just throws him back down. 1 minute remains. Mario Bautista continues to control Cory Sandhagen until the final horns. We go to the judges’.
