Gable Steveson is causing heavyweights to count their days with UFC debut, per Bryan Battle pre-UFC 329

Gable Steveson is making a widely discussed UFC debut on this year’s International Fight Week card and a fellow victorious fighter from DBX 4 has given his thoughts on the heavyweight coming over the octagon.

Steveson battles Elisha Ellison at UFC 329: McGregor vs. Holloway 2 on July 11th with the former looking to build on his unbeaten MMA record. The MMA run of the Olympic gold medalist wrestler has been getting a lot of attention with Steveson also having recent wins with Real American Freestyle as well as with the aforementioned Dirty Boxing Championship.

Byan Battle shared a DBX card with Steveson and Battle prepares to take on Dalton Rosta in the main event of PFL Charlotte on August 7th. When touching upon their shared anecdotal history while asking for his thoughts on Steveson making his debut with the Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday, Battle said [via Bowks Talking Bouts],

“I think it’s going to be quick. I think don’t blink. You know what I’m saying? That’s what I think. I mean, he is, dude, I mean, just the the accolades and credentials he has coming into the game. The fact that he gets to sit underneath Jon Jones. I mean, bro, like that is, if you’re a heavyweight, you’ve got to be counting your days with that motherf***er coming up.”

Gable Steveson won’t get pushed for a while in the UFC, per Battle

Offering advice to divisional peers now that Gable Steveson is officially part of the UFC’s heavyweight roster, Battle continued [via Bowks Talking Bouts],

“So, unless someone; it’s one of those things where if you’re in the heavyweight division, you got to get him now. You know what I’m saying? Like almost if you’re the champion, you’re like, “Yo, let’s go ahead and book that fight. So I can beat him now before he gets too much experience then then you just can’t f**k with him period.” So yeah, I would say that would just be my thoughts on that. Gable’s fighting like don’t blink, you know? Not yet. He’s got a couple more tiers to go before he’s really being pushed.”
