Report | Another UFC Fighter Taken to Hospital Following Conor McGregor’s Rampage

By Drake Riggs - April 5, 2018

The MMA world has been buzzing today after the gang-like attack from former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion, Conor McGregor at the Barclay Center which plays host to Saturday’s UFC 223 event in Brooklyn, New York.

McGregor stormed the arena with a reported crew of about twenty men, one of which was fellow UFC fighter and his training partner, Artem Lobov who was scheduled to fight this Saturday against Alex Caceres. However, after the incident, Lobov has been pulled from his fight.

McGregor and company targeted a bus that was carrying several UFC 223 fighters and their camps in an attempt to presumably attack one half of the event’s main event, perennial top lightweight, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

With the attack came a hurling of multiple items from McGregor, one of which being a trolly cart that crashed into the bus window. Initially, it was only lightweight and season 15 winner of The Ultimate Fighter, Michael Chiesa who was reported to have sustained injuries from the incident. Now another fighter has also let been taken to the hospital for further evaluation.

I’m told Ray Borg was sitting next to Chiesa on the bus. Glass hit his face, too, but no cuts.

Translation: Ray Borg is being taken to the hospital because he is having trouble opening his eyes as a result of what he believes is shrapnel that entered his eye as a result of the incident with Conor McGregor earlier today.

Ray Borg is at a local hospital to get his eyes checked, sources confirm. He was sitting next to Chiesa and glass apparently hit his eye, sources say. Borg going to the hospital first reported by Combate.

Ray Borg is expected to take on fellow top 10 flyweight contender, Brandon Moreno at UFC 223. If this fight will still end up taking place after this news remains to be determined.

Borg last fought at UFC 216 in September of 2017 when he challenged for Demetrious Johnson’s flyweight title.
