UFC Freedom 250 Results: Ciryl Gane finishes Alex Pereira (Video)

Tonight’s UFC Freedom 250 event is co-headlined by an interim heavyweight title fight between Ciryl Gane and Alex Pereira.

Gane (14-2 MMA) will be competing for the first time since his no-contest with reigning heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall last October at UFC 321. Prior to that controversial bout, the Frenchman had earned victories over Alexander Volkov and Serghei Spivac.

Meanwhile, Alex Pereira (13-4 MMA) most previously competed at UFC 320, where he scored a first-round TKO victory over Magomed Ankalaev to reclaim the promotion‘s light heavyweight title. ‘Poatan’ has gone 4-1 over his past five fights overall.

Round one of the UFC Freedom 250 co-main event begins and the fighters take the center of the cage. Alex Pereira attempts a high kick that misses. Ciryl Gane replies with a jab up the middle. Another head kick attempt from ‘Poatan’, this one partially connects. Gane with a quick right hand. Pereira with a pair of outside low kicks. ‘Bon Gamin’ with a jab and then a nice inside low kick. Another nice jab from the former interim heavyweight champ. Gane with a takedown attempt. He didn’t commit but is keeping Alex Pereira honest. 3 good punches from Ciryl Gane. He’s bouncing around early. Pereira begins to press forward. Gane misses with a counter right. He lands a nice 1-2 after ‘Poatan’ attempts a low kick. Pereira with another low kick attempt. This time it lands flush. Gane with a calf kick. A late punch for Pereira. The horn sounds to end round one.

Round two of the UFC Freedom 250 co-main event begins and the fighters trade low kicks. Ciryl Gane with a big combination. Another big shot and Alex Pereira goes down. Gane swarms him. Pereira is back up. More big shots from the Frenchman. He’s destroying ‘Poatan’. This is close to being over. More shots from Gane! The referee has seen enough! WOW!
