Arman Tsarukyan targets RAF wrestling match with Colby Covington: “I’m gonna kick his ass”

Aman Tsarukyan wants to sweep Colby Covington under the RAF banner.

Tsarukyan was back on the mats for a freestyle wrestling match with UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber on Saturday. “Ahalkalakets” won the match via technical fall with a 13-1 score. With yet another RAF victory, Tsarukyan already knows who he wants to grapple with next.

During the RAF 08 post-fight press conference, Tsarukyan told reporters that he’s looking to give Covington a wrestling clinic.

“I want to dominate him and I don’t want to give him any points like I gave to Urijah because he’s a little bit old and it’s not good to win 10-0,” Tsarukyan said. “Against Colby, I’m gonna go hard and try to make it 10-0 first round and kick his ass. Everybody gonna forget about him in wrestling, and everybody already forgot about him in UFC.”

Covington is scheduled for a RAF 09 outing with former UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman on May 30. “Chaos” has suggested facing Tsarukyan next instead, which isn’t surprising to the top lightweight contender.

“If they told me I’m fighting with [Justin] Gaethje, or they’re gonna give you Conor McGregor, I’m gonna forget about Gaethje and take Conor McGregor,” Tsarukyan said. “It’s the same here. It’s a big fight, big wrestling right now. He beat everybody in RAF. I beat everybody. So, we’re both the best wrestlers from UFC, and it’s gonna be big wrestling. I’m so excited. He talks a lot. So, I want to shut his mouth.”

Time will tell when RAF officials will book Tsarukyan vs. Covington. Both men aren’t shy when it comes to pre-fight antics, although Tsarukyan has admitted that he likes to get a bit handsy outside of competition.
