Arman Tsarukyan wants Michael Chandler off the UFC roster: “They’ve got to fire him”

Arman Tsarukyan believes it’s time for the UFC brass to cut ties with Michael Chandler.
Chandler suffered his fourth straight loss on the UFC Freedom 250 card this past Sunday. He suffered a fourth-round TKO loss to Mauricio Ruffy in a fight many believed would be a mismatch going in. Chandler was hoping to bounce back after suffering losses to Paddy Pimblett, Charles Oliveira, and Dustin Poirier.
Tsarukyan appeared on “The Ariel Helwani Show” and made it clear that he thinks Chandler has no business being on the UFC roster (via MMAJunkie).
“How they let Michael Chandler fight?” Tsarukyan said. “Please cut him. Just fire him. Tell UFC they’ve got to fire him. Yeah, because he is losing all of his fights.”
Tsarukyan did have one positive thing to say about Chandler, but he ultimately thinks it’s time for the former Bellator champion to pack it up.
“To have this physique at 40 years old is something crazy, you know,” Tsarukyan said. “I would like to have the same body when I’m going to be 40. He trains probably twice a day everyday. He has no chin anymore unfortunately. That’s why you have to leave in the right moment.”
Chandler hasn’t won an MMA bout since 2022. On top of that, he has gone 1-6 in his last seven outings. Chandler has had a strong relationship with UFC and many believe he could settle in as a long-term analyst if it’s truly the end of the road for his fighting career.
In terms of competing elsewhere, many fans would prefer if Chandler does something with the RAF promotion where he wouldn’t be taking damage from strikes. Chandler figures to have options on the table if he’s actually cut from the UFC roster.
