Arman Tsarukyan reveals ‘crazy’ phone call with Khamzat Chimaev after viral RAF 6 brawl

UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev wanted to continue Arman Tsarukyan’s RAF 6 brawl hours after the event.
UFC lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan was at the center of a new controversy last weekend at Real American Freestyle 6.
Tsarukyan, who hasn’t fought since submitting Dan Hooker at UFC Qatar last year, competed at RAF 6 against talented grappler Georgio Poullas. It marked Tsarukyan’s second appearance in RAF after defeating Lance Palmer at RAF 5 in January.
In between fight camps, Tsarukyan has worked extensively with UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev in California. The two UFC stars are never afraid of a fight in or out of the cage, as Chimaev has demonstrated throughout his career.
Tsarukyan got into it with Poullas after their match at RAF 6, throwing several punches at his opponent and sparking a brawl between the two teams. This incident took place after Poullas committed numerous fouls in the match, including slapping Tsarukyan in the face.
Arman Tsarukyan: ‘Crazy’ Khamzat Chimaev wanted to help continue RAF 6 brawl
In a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Tsarukyan revealed a phone call he received from Chimaev immediately after his brawl at RAF 6.
“Khamzat called me right away and said ‘Bro, should I fly out? Why didn’t you invite me? When there’s a fight, you never invite me! I gotta be there!’.
“We shouldn’t be together for fights. He’s definitely crazier. Everybody’s scared of him. He’s strong, he knows he has a big name, and he doesn’t go down to anybody. But if someone says something about him or his family, then I don’t know.”
Chimaev won the UFC middleweight title by defeating Dricus du Plessis at UFC 319 last year. He’s expected to return later this year, likely against top contender Nassourdine Imavov.
As for what’s next for Tsarukyan, he could potentially run it back with Poullas in RAF before signing off on his next UFC fight. In either case, expect fireworks from the rising lightweight contender.
