Arman Tsarukyan shares timeframe for next UFC fight, hints at possible featherweight title bout

Arman Tsarukyan has an idea of when his next UFC fight will be, and he’s even teasing a potential featherweight title bout.
Tsarukyan is a top contender in the lightweight division, but he is not next in line for the gold at 155 pounds. Main champion Ilia Topuria will be facing interim titleholder Justin Gaethje in the UFC Freedom 250 main event for the undisputed distinction on June 14. While one might think Tsarukyan is waiting for the winner, he isn’t ruling out a crack at Alexander Volkanovski’s featherweight gold.
During an appearance on IbraTV, “Ahalkalakets” revealed when he plans to get back inside the Octagon.
“I’ll fight roughly around June,” Tsarukyan said. “They’re still deciding who I’ll fight. It’s even possible that I drop down to 66 kg [145 lb] to fight the title.”
While the goal remains to become the UFC Lightweight Champion, Tsarukyan admits it would be hard to turn down a shot at gold in a lower weight class.
“I’d prefer to stay in my weight class at 70 kg [155 lb],” Tsarukyan continued. “But if they offer me a title fight at 66 [145], then why not.”
Tsarukyan hasn’t had a UFC fight since Nov. 2025 when he submitted Dan Hooker in Qatar. Tsarukyan has been staying busy, however. He has competed in freestyle wrestling against Georgio Poullas and Urijah Faber under the RAF banner. He also choked out Muhammad Mokaev in a submission-only grappling match for Hype Brazil back in March.
If Tsarukyan is indeed planning a June return, it’ll be interesting to see who he is matched up against. If he isn’t going to drop down in weight, then Tsarukyan could be looking at a Charles Oliveira rematch or perhaps the top five-ranked Benoit Saint Denis.
