Tyson Fury sends message to Anthony Joshua after earning stoppage win in tune-up fight

Tyson Fury picked up a stoppage win in Thailand on Friday in his tune-up fight before his highly anticipated scrap against Anthony Joshua.

Fury took on 46-year-old Mariusz Wach at the Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand, with around 1500 fans in attendance. It was a low-key fight for Fury, who got the stoppage win as Wach couldn’t come off the stool after the seventh round.

Following Fury’s win, he sent a message to Joshua, who’s set to return on Saturday in his tune-up fight before the two fight later this year.

“I went through my test tonight. Let’s see if he can get through his,” Fury said after the win.

It wasn’t a huge fight in terms of visibility as the fight wasn’t broadcast live on any television or radio platform. Instead, according to the BBC, it will be shown as part of the third series of the Netflix reality show ‘At Home With The Furys’.

Tyson Fury won’t attend Anthony Joshua’s fight live

With Joshua boxing on Saturday in Jeddah, many thought Fury would fly there to be in attendance.

However, after the win, Tyson Fury made it clear he doesn’t care to watch it or won’t be attending it in person. Instead, he’s going home to be with his family and friends.

“I’ve got to face off with my wife, I’ve got to iron when I get home. I’ve been away for six out of the last seven months,” Fury said. “I’m not going to Jeddah, I’m going home to my wife and kids. I’m going to regroup and hopefully we’ll have a big fight signed next week.”

Although Fury won’t be attending the fight live, he will likely be pulling for Joshua to win so the two can box later this year in what will be a massive fight.

With the win, Fury improved to 36-2-1 and is on a two-fight winning streak.
