UFC featherweight contender Lerone Murphy has called for a big title eliminator against Movsar Evloev.

As we know, Lerone Murphy is one of the top stars in the UFC’s featherweight division right now. After his knockout win over Aaron Pico, he seemed set to be the next challenger for the world title. Instead, Alexander Volkanovski’s UFC 325 opponent was announced as Diego Lopes, which caused some controversy.

Murphy, meanwhile, after licking his wounds, is right back to asking for fights. He wants to get in there and keep proving himself to the world, in an attempt to show beyond a shadow of a doubt that he deserves a crack at the gold.

In a recent interview, Murphy made it clear that he is more than willing to go head to head with fellow top contender Movsar Evloev.

Murphy wants Evloev showdown

“You give me Evloev, the hardest fight,” Murphy said on the “Pound 4 Pound” podcast. “I think that’s the biggest matchup to make. You give me Evloev, and you make Yair (Rodriguez) and (Aljamain) Sterling fight.”

“If he doesn’t hold on and make it boring, it would be a banger,” Murphy said of Evloev. “Obviously that would be my job to do some defensive wrestling and break off and time something, but I think that’s the fight to make. Everyone says it’s either me or him that’s next in line, so let’s eliminate one and get it cracking.”
