The reason behind the date switch, Jose Aldo dropping out of the UFC 149 main event against Eric Koch due to a knee injury.

“I’m really not happy about all the changes, but there is nothing I can do. The worst part about it is I had a lot of people coming to support me (In Las Vegas) because I had been promoting the same date for the last 4 months.”

Faber was supposed to be part of the co-main event at UFC 148, with Sonnen vs Silva II as the main event, now with the switch he and Barao are the main event at UFC 149. “I was really happy to be a part of that, but my event is going to be awesome as well.
