“I guess she doesn’t like me for whatever reason. And I don’t know what that reason is, because I’ve literally met her twice and was so polite and so welcoming, and so excited to have women in the UFC. So I don’t really know what her deal is with me… (It stemmed) just from comments she made about me that I ignored, and then I was doing an interview about my show. Also it was around the time she was fighting in Vegas (at UFC 170), so they asked me a couple questions. Of course I said that it’s a very great honor that two amazingly strong women, Olympic medalists are headlining the UFC. That’s a great accomplishment. And then they took the one negative comment and blew it out of proportion. So whatever. “I don’t really care. She’s a fighter, I’m an Octagon girl. It’s two completely different things. I’m never going to fight, so people can stir up shit as much as they want.”

“I have a whole philosophy on PEDs,” he said. “Guys who use PEDs have to first admit one thing to themselves, [which is] ‘I’m not good enough to win on my own, therefore I need to take something.’ And that’s all the mental edge I need. You’re not good enough to hang in there with me. “I’m taking absolutely nothing, I don’t even eat good. I don’t have a strict diet. But if you have it that you have to take PEDs to stay competitive with me, I’ve already won, because you’re not good enough.”

But, did I think I was going to get released? No, I had no idea. I thought I was going to be put on the shelf.” “I was actually happy because I felt like, I could sign with another company, and that company is gonna pay me way more than I make with UFC.”

Following his title-winning effort at UFC 171 against Robbie Lawler, newly minted UFC welterweight champion, Johny Hendricks, was forced to go under the knife for a torn bicep. According to the champ, surgery was a success and as he stated previously, he’s expecting to make a return to the cage this fall.

It’s still not entirely clear if Wanderlei Silva has signed his contract to fight Chael Sonnen, but that little detail didn’t stop UFC executive Grace Tourinho from addressing the issue at last night’s UFC Fight Night 38 post-fight press conference. According to Brazil’s UFC boss, the fight between Sonnen and Silva is official for May 31, from the Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo.
