Dustin Poirier has revealed he’s still locked in under a UFC contract despite retiring. Poirier entered the Octagon for the final time back in July 2025. He took on Max Holloway in a trilogy bout in New Orleans. “The Diamond” fell short, losing via unanimous decision. Poirier has since served as an analyst for UFC events, including recent shows on Paramount+.

Magomed Ankalaev claims he won’t be shooting for any takedowns if he’s matched up with Khalil Rountree Jr. in the UFC light heavyweight division. Ankalaev is a former champ at 205 pounds. He has not fought since he lost the belt to Alex Pereira via first-round KO late last year, but his seemingly itching to get back to action.

For the first time since 2017, Colby Covington is not a ranked UFC welterweight. The three-time title challenger was finally booted from the top-15 by rising Canadian contender Mike Malott. Malott headlined last Saturday’s UFC card in Winnipeg, knocking out Gilbert Burns to earn his place in the rankings — at Covington’s expense.

The UFC was in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, on Saturday for UFC Winnipeg. In the main event, welterweight contenders threw down as Mike Malott took on Gilbert Burns. Malott was headlining his first UFC event and was coming off a win over Kevin Holland. Burns, meanwhile, had lost four straight fights. After dropping his fifth consecutive fight, Burns opted to announce his retirement in the Octagon at UFC Winnipeg, despite no previous hints at ending his career.

Michael Bisping believes it would be a good idea to book Paddy Pimblett vs. Benoit Saint Denis for the UFC 329 International Fight Week event. Pimblett has said in his vlogs that he’s planning to return to the Octagon sometime this summer. “The Baddy” fell short in his bid to capture the interim UFC Lightweight Championship back in January. He was defeated by Justin Gaethje via unanimous decision. Gaethje will be meeting Ilia Topuria in a title unification bout at UFC Freedom 250, while Pimblett will look to get back in the win column soon.

Carlos Ulberg is the new UFC light heavyweight champion, but he is not a household name yet. UFC fans learned that the hard way during night two of WrestleMania, when commentators completely failed to clock the champ when he appeared on screen. Ulberg won the vacant light heavyweight belt at UFC 327 earlier this month, when he survived a disastrous leg injury to knock out Jiri Prochazka in round one. Having recently undergone surgery to repair his injury, he will not be fighting anytime soon. However, he is clearly making the most of his new championship status, as he was front and centre for Sunday’s Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk showdown.

His luck finally ran out at UFC 324 in January, when he suffered a decision loss in an interim lightweight title fight with Justin Gaethje.
