A key light heavyweight bout between former division champion Mauricio Shogun Rua and perennial contender Tyson Pedro served as the co-headliner of tonight’s UFC Adelaide event. Shogun Rua was last seen in action at July’s UFC Fight Night 134 event, where he suffered a first-round knockout loss to surging division contender Anthony Smith.

Mark Hunt enters tonight’s contest looking to rebound, this after suffering back-to-back losses to opponents Curtis Blaydes and Alexey Oleynik in his most recent octagon appearances. Prior to the setbacks, “The Super Samoan” was coming off a TKO victory over recent division title challenger Derrick Lewis.

Dana White says it would be unfair for Khabib Nurmagomedov to be suspended more than a year

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor are both currently under suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), this for the melee that occurred after UFC 229. A final hearing to determine their punishments is set for December 10. What the NSAC plans to do remains a mystery. The most extreme punishment would be to strip both fighters of their respective licenses, this in addition to issuing fines and lengthy suspensions. Ultimately, that seems unlikely to happen.
Kron Gracie will make his highly anticipated octagon debut at UFC 233 against Alex Caceres

Kron Gracie, the son of legendary Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ace Rickson Gracie, will make his highly anticipate octagon debut at January’s UFC 233 event. ESPN announced that the promotion intends to have Kron Gracie (4-0 MMA) fight Alex Caceres (14-11 MMA) at the January 26 event which takes place in Anaheim, California.

Mixed martial arts legends Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell squared off for a third time last weekend in Inglewood, California. The trilogy, which took place under the Golden Boy MMA banner, marked Liddell’s first fight in over eight years.

At UFC 231, which goes down on December 8 in Toronto, Iceland’s Gunnar Nelson will make his long-awaited return to the Octagon opposite Brazil’s Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira. While Nelson has previously looked a little undersized for the welterweight division, it doesn’t look like that will be a problem anymore. Early on Saturday morning, Gunnar Nelson shared a photo of himself on Twitter, and to say he looks absolutely jacked would be an understatement. This is easily the biggest he’s ever looked.
