UFC President Dana White recently suggested that UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov could return to the cage in September. Speaking to the media in Russia, Nurmagomedov confirmed that this is indeed the plan, and that his potential return could occur in Abu Dhabi. https://twitter.com/RTSportNews/status/1113109500976881667 “What’s the idea behind the September comeback?” a reporter asked the champion. “Is it true you’re going to fight in Abu Dhabi?”

Many were puzzled to see Ray Borg miss weight ahead of UFC on ESPN 2 but now we know why. Despite competing a division class up at bantamweight, Borg missed the 135-pound limit (clocking in at 137.5 pounds) but according to the former UFC title challenger it was just another case of bad luck. As he explained on Monday’s The Luke Thomas Show Borg says his hotel didn’t have sauna or steam room so he was forced to make his own. This is where the trouble started.

They both include former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor, and they’re both rematches. UFC President Dana White named these two dream fights in a recent interview with LasVegasNOW.com (via TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter).

Ruslan Magomedov handed lifetime suspension from USADA

Russia’s ‘Leopard,’ Ruslan Magomedov was once considered by many to be the heavyweight division’s best prospect. His incredible speed for one of the big men of the sport was truly a sight to behold as evidenced by his nickname. Unfortunately, he was nothing more than a product of banned substances. On Monday, USADA announced that the 14-1 Magomedov has now been suspended permanently after three violations. Their statement on the sanction can be read in its entirety below.

UFC Contender Weili Zhang inks new deal

One of the UFC’s fastest rising strawweight isn’t going anywhere any time soon. Currently ranked #7, China’s Weili Zhang (19-1) has signed a new multi-fight deal with the UFC, per her manager Brian Butler-Au. BJPenn.com’s Drake Riggs has since learned the deal is for six-fights.
