On the main card of ‘UFC Fight Night: Hamburg’ Ryan Bader left MMA fans stunned as he knocked out heavy handed Swedish fighter Ilir Latifi.
Bader, who came into the bout looking to avenge his KO loss to Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson earlier this year, made an emphatic statement as he landed a perfectly placed knee that left Latifi out cold on the canvas.
The loss snapped Latifi’s 3-fight win streak that saw the Swede defeat Hans Stringer, Sean O’Connell, and most recently Gian Villante.
Bader now returns to the win column after having his 5-fight win streak snapped at the hands of Anthony Johnson back in January.
Bellator 290 is in the books and disclosed fighter purses have rolled out. The event was held inside the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. Headlining the show was a Bellator Heavyweight Championship clash, which also happened to be the final fight in the pro MMA career of Fedor Emelianenko. Ryan Bader defeated Emelianenko via first-round TKO to retain the gold.
In the main event of Bellator 290, the heavyweight title is up for grabs as Ryan Bader rematches Fedor Emelianenko, in the Russian’s retirement fight. Heading into the fight, Bader is a -330 favorite while the Russian is a +275 underdog on FanDuel.
