Floyd Mayweather talks Dana White

Prior to Conor McGregor’s epic two fights with Nate Diaz, the biggest rumor in he fight world revolved around a super fight between UFC featherweight champion McGregor and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.

While talks of a bout between the two has cooled down following ‘Mystic Mac’s’ fights with Diaz and scheduled lightweight title fight against champ Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205, Mayweather still speaks on the subject from time to time, and most recently spoke about McGregor with TMZ Sports on Wednesday.

If he did take anything from me, if he did steal my blueprint then, I think it’s a good thing. I think he’s a hell of a fighter. He can fight. He can box real good. As far as stand up, he’s very good at standing up fighting. Everyone is asking me ‘are we going to fight’ and I just don’t know.”

Mayweather interview

McGregor had teased the fight with fan-made posters on social media and responded to Mayweather in the past,  but has largely remained quiet on talks of a boxing bout with Mayweather.

Mayweather noted the similarities of their promotional styles; both men are brash trash talkers, but ‘Pretty Boy’ Floyd took it more as a compliment than an insult.

Although a mega-fight between boxing and mixed martial arts’ two biggest stars may be off the table for now, Mayweather made it clear that for enough money, he would certainly consider coming out of resident for a fight with ‘Notorious’.

“I’m loving retirement, but for a couple more bucks you just don’t know.”

McGregor shares that same sentiment, saying he would take on the boxing legend for no less than $100 million payday.
