After recent weigh-in trouble, Uriah Hall's coach discusses potential move to 205

Tom Taylor - January 18, 2018

If things had gone according to plan, middleweight staple Uriah Hall would have battled the retiring Vitor Belfort in the co-main event of last weekend’s UFC St. Louis card. Unfortunately, Hall was hospitalized as a result of a botched weight cut, and forced out of this contest thereafter. Shortly after Hall’s weight cut went awry, UFC President Dana White went off on him, suggesting he might be wise to migrate to the 205-pound light heavyweight division, where the cut would be less severe.

Tom Taylor - January 15, 2018

Regrettably, Hall was hospitalized as the result of a weight-cut gone awry, and forced out of the fight at the last minute. Despite the fact that Hall is reported to have endured seizures in the midst of his botched cut, UFC President Dana White still isn’t happy with him.

BREAKING | The Co Main Event of UFC Missouri is Off After Weigh-ins

Justin Golightly - January 13, 2018

This year is off to a crazy start. We just lost Robert Whittaker’s fight with Luke Rockhold due to an injury. Before that, Zak Cummings had to pull out of his fight with Thiago Alves. Now another big scrap has just been struck down. As we all know, the UFC scales remain undefeated. Uriah Hall failed to weigh in early this morning for his fight with legend Vitor Belfort. As a result, the UFC has pulled the co-main event from the card this Sunday and as of right now there are no news as to what will be bumped up into that slot. UFC has made it official. Uriah Hall vs. Vitor Belfort is officially off #UFCSTL. Belfort’s retirement fight will have to wait.

Vitor Belfort Will Retire at UFC Missouri After Fighting Uriah Hall

Justin Golightly - January 11, 2018

The man who was once reported to have ‘no known weaknesses,’ turned out to have one: Time. It’s hard to believe that The Phenom has been fighting since 1996 and is about to strap on the gloves to fight this Sunday at UFC Missouri. He’s beaten all your favorite fighters in every different era: Wanderlei Silva, Dan Henderson, Randy Couture, Luke Rockhold, Michael Bisping. After legendary victories, highlight reel knockouts and a UFC belt, Belfort is finally walking away at the age of 40. “This is my retirement fight. After that I’m going to put my body to rest. This is it. Breaking news. I think I did more than enough. Just to think back, sometimes I flashback just like Matt [Sera] said, and I’m like, ‘Wow, I’m still doing this, wow man, this is crazy.’ I’m very thankful, but I think my body need to rest. I have other things, I have a business of my own, I developed have a system, I developed a group class training system that we’re going to franchise. I just want to leave to help the sport in a way, work with the sport and help and do other things. We got to know the time to start and I think we need to know the time to end and it’s about time.”

Uriah Hall goes off on USADA, "steroid-using d**k heads" in profanity-riddled tirade

Tom Taylor - November 20, 2017

The United States Anti-Doping Agency, the organization that the UFC has enlisted to help combat MMA’s long standing performance enhancing drug problem, has as long history of aggravating fighters with surprise visits. In an effort to catch potential PED-users unawares, USADA agents will often show up unannounced, in the wee hours of the morning, oftentimes infuriating their groggy test subjects in the process. One USADA rep is even reported to have had a gun pointed in his face. The latest fighter to go off on USADA is UFC middleweight Uriah Hall, who says he was woken up by a testing agent on Monday morning. However, USADA was not the only target of Hall’s rage. The fighter is also furious with his steroid-using peers, who are, of course, the reason USADA is necessary to begin with. Hall made his opinion clear in a Monday morning post to his Instagram story.

Derek Brunson has made no secret of his disdain for Uriah Hall in advance of their middleweight showdown this Saturday. The Strikeforce veteran has spent the past few months lambasting his upcoming foe, even accusing him of PED-use on several occasions.
