Santiago Ponzinibbio is looking for a fight, and from the sounds of it, he’s got an opponent in mind.

Speaking on Instagram on Monday, the Argentine welterweight contender called for a fight with former UFC lightweight champ Anthony Pettis. He asserted that Pettis got lucky in his last outing, in which he knocked out former welterweight title challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, and promised that the American will have no such luck in this prospective matchup.

”There’s no way I’m going to allow you be ahead of me,” Ponzinibbio wrote in his callout of Pettis (h/t MMA Fighting). “Come get this beating, you won’t get lucky like last time.”

Santiago Ponzinibbio last fought in November, when he delivered a brutal knockout of long-time welterweight contender Neil Magny. With this victory, the Argentine striker improved his current win-streak to seven — a run that also includes wins over Gunnar Nelson, Nordine Taleb and Court McGee. He’s currently a fantastic 27-3 overall.

When Anthony Pettis knocked out Wonderboy, it marked his successful debut in the UFC welterweight division. In his next most recent fight, he was stopped by top lightweight contender Tony Ferguson. This loss was preceded by a submission win over Michael Chiesa. The former UFC lightweight champion is currently an impressive 22-8 in sum.

Does a fight between Santiago Ponzinibbio and Anthony Pettis interest you? Who do you think would come out on top in this clash of welterweight strikers?
