Pros react to Rafael dos Anjos stopping Kevin Lee at UFC Rochester

A welterweight bout between former lightweight fighters Rafael dos Anjos and Kevin Lee headlined tonight’s UFC Rochester event.

The former UFC lightweight champion, Dos Anjos, entered tonight’s contest looking to rebound, this after dropping back-to-back decision losses to Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman in his most recent octagon appearances.

Prior to the setbacks, Rafael dos Anjos had reeled off three straight victories at 170-pounds, which included a beatdown of former champion Robbie Lawler.

As for ‘The Motown Phenom’, Kevin Lee was making his welterweight debut at tonight’s event. The former interim lightweight title challenger was last seen in action at December’s UFC event in Milwaukee, where he suffered a decision loss to Al Iaquinta. Lee entered tonight’s scrap with ‘RDA’ sporting a professional record of 17-4.

Tonight’s fight was a grueling back and forth affair. For three rounds Lee and Dos Anjos battled in the grappling department with both fighters earning dominant position.

In round four, ‘RDA’ was able to get Kevin Lee on the canvas and then put him away with an arm triangle submission.

Lee still fairly young. Did some good things but fought at a exhausting pace for anyone and it cost him. RDA back in the win column with a big finish and showed he’s still among the elite circle. That circle is full of killers at 155 or 170 lbs#UFCRochester
