Well, it looks like UFC lightweight king Khabib Nurmagomedov really isn’t messing around when it comes to stepping into the boxing ring.

This, of course, isn’t to say that “The Eagle” will be making his next appearance inside the said ring. But he does appear to be trying to make it happen a bit more than we all anticipated.

Today Nurmagomedov met with the Secretary General of the Russian Boxing Federation Umar Kremlev to discuss the possibility of taking on the all-time boxing great, Floyd Mayweather in Russia.

A meeting with the Secretary General of the Russian Boxing Federation @umar_kremlev was held today
We discussed the fight with Mayweather. We want the fight to take place in Moscow at the legendary Luzhniki arena. They are sure that we will gather 100 thousand spectators, and also set a world record for the sale of paid broadcasts.
And, most importantly, my father will be in the corner; a visa to Moscow is not needed.
And so a question for my fans: do you believe in me? Or do you also think that he will knock me out of boxing? 😁

Shortly after Nurmagomedov defeated Conor McGregor at UFC 229 on October 6, the champion and Mayweather began to exchange words and express interest in potentially squaring off.

For Mayweather, his last fight happened to come against McGregor as well when McGregor crossed over from MMA in August 2017 to face Mayweather in his world of boxing. The outcome would come in favor of Mayweather who won via tenth round TKO.

Nurmagomedov still happens to be awaiting his punishment from the NSAC for his post-fight antics after the bout with McGregor. And as far as we know, he still has yet to receive his 2 million dollar fight purse as well.
