Jean Silva plans to train with Ilia Topuria to ‘break’ Alexander Volkanovski following UFC 325

Jean Silva has made it clear that he’s going after Alexander Volkanovski and the UFC Featherweight Championship.
Silva was paying attention to Saturday’s UFC 325 card, which was held in Sydney. The main event featured a 145-pound title rematch between Volkanovski and Diego Lopes. For the second time, “The Great” scored a unanimous decision victory over Lopes.
“Lord” Silva hasn’t been shy in expressing his goal to become a UFC champion one day. In a new video posted on his X account, Silva revealed he plans to train with reigning UFC Lightweight Champion Ilia Topuria in an effort to realize his dream.
“I think the thing is, I know that Volkanovski is asking for Evloev,” Silva said in a roughly translated video. “I don’t what he’s asking the guys not to get hurt. Bro, sorry to inform you, if you want to stay good without getting hurt I understand you, but if you want to fight a guy who hits hard, I’m your guy. I will tell you more. I’m going there to camp with Topuria to break you. I’ll let you know, eh? I’ll warn you.”
Silva recently rebounded from a TKO loss to Lopes. He faced Arnold Allen on the UFC 324 card in Las Vegas. In UFC’s debut event on Paramount+, Silva earned a unanimous decision victory over Allen.
“Lord” Silva barely finds himself outside of the top five in the official UFC featherweight rankings. Names such as Aljamain Sterling, Lerone Murphy, Yair Rodriguez, and Movsar Evloev are ahead of him. Still, Silva’s exciting fighting style and strong following could be enough to push him ahead in the title race.
Volkanovski has told reporters that he prefers to face either Evloev or Murphy in his next title defense.
