Darren Till returns to Instagram with interesting message

By Tom Taylor - May 2, 2019

After back-to-back losses and a brush with the law in Spain, UFC welterweight contender Darren Till deactivated his Instagram and Twitter accounts, evidently keen to keep a low profile.

His hiatus from these social media channels did not last long.

Early on Thursday morning, Till returned to Instagram with an interesting post.

This post included a video that seemed to be taken inside a sauna — which implies the Brit is back in training. The caption included the words “F**k what you think,” along with a taxi emoji.

This emoji choice is interesting as Till’s recent legal troubles partly involved his alleged theft of a taxi. He is also reported to have destroyed a hotel room during this incident. All in, he was fined north of $10,000 USD for this trouble.

Darren Till last fought in March, when he was knocked out by Jorge Masvidal in the main event of UFC London. In his next most recent fight, he was submitted by Tyron Woodley, marking a failed bid to capture the UFC welterweight title. These were the first two losses of his impressive career.

Till was recently called out by his long-time rival Mike Perry.

“I think the Darren Till fight’s a good fight,” Perry said post-fight (transcript via MMA Fighting). “He’s called me out in the Octagon, I just called him out in the Octagon, I think that’s good press for the UFC to put together. The fight makes sense. I used to not want to call people out who were coming off a loss, but you know what, you up in the top and you got that number next to your name? I’m gonna need that spot, so I’m gonna need that fight if it’s available.”
