Belal Muhammad didn’t get the result he envisioned at the conclusion of UFC Vegas 118, but he is facing the music without hesitation.

The former UFC Welterweight Champion was back in action this past Saturday. “Remember The Name” collided with surging contender Gabriel Bonfim inside the Meta Apex in Las Vegas. Muhammad struggled against the younger Bonfim and was ultimately swept on the scorecards. With the victory, Bonfim has extended his winning streak to five.

It didn’t take long for Muhammad to address his latest defeat in an Instagram post. While the former 170-pound ruler was humble in defeat, he made it clear that this isn’t the end of the road.

“Alhamdillah for everything to blessed to be stressed.. You don’t find out who you are when everything goes your way. You find out when it doesn’t. Grateful for the journey, grateful for the lessons. I’ll be back…Thank you to all my supporters my team and family .. congrats my brother on his big win his hard work paying off on his way to the title.”

Muhammad has now dropped three straight fights. He hasn’t earned a win since capturing the UFC Welterweight Championship from Leon Edwards back in 2024. He lost in his attempt at a successful title defense against Jack Della Maddalena, and followed that up with losses to Ian Machado Garry and Bonfim.

This July, Muhammad will be turning 38 years old. Fans are questioning just how much the Chicago native has left at this stage of his career. Whether or not he can beat the odds and rebound in a big way remains to be seen.
