The Octagon returns to New Jersey for tonight’s UFC 328 event, a 13-bout fight card headlined by Khamzat Chimaev vs. Sean Strickland.

Chimaev (15-0 MMA) will be returning to action for the first time since claiming the promotion‘s middleweight title with a lopsided decision victory over Dricus Du Plessis this past August at UFC 319. Prior to that title-earning triumph, ‘Borz’ was coming off wins over former UFC champions Kamaru Usman and Robert Whittaker.

Meanwhile, Sean Strickland (30-7 MMA) most previously competed this past February, where he earned an impressive third-round TKO victory over Anthony Hernandez. Prior to that win, the brash American was coming off a decision loss to Dricus Du Plessis in a fight for the promotion’s middleweight title at UFC 312.

Tonight’s UFC 328 event is co-headlined by a men’s flyweight title fight between Joshua Van and Tatsuro Taira.

Joshua Van, Tatsuro Taira

Van (16-2 MMA) will be competing for the first time since claiming the promotion‘s flyweight title with a TKO victory over Alexandre Pantoja this past December at UFC 323. ‘The Fearless’ currently boasts a six-fight winning streak, which includes victories over Brandon Royval and Cody Durden.

Meanwhile, Tatsuro Taira (18-1 MMA) was last seen in action this past December, where he earned a second-round TKO victory over former division champion Brandon Moreno. The Japanese standout suffered his lone career defeat 3 fights ago when he suffered a split decision loss to Brandon Royval.

Also featured on tonight’s UFC 328 main card lineup is a key heavyweight bout between Alexander Volkov and Waldo Cortes-Acosta.

Volkov (39-11 MMA) most previously competed in the Octagon this past October at UFC 321, where he scored a split decision victory over Jailton Almeida. Prior to that triumph, ‘Drago’ was coming off a split decision setback to Ciryl Gane at UFC 310.

Meanwhile, Waldo Cortes-Acosta (17-2 MMA) will enter tonight’s contest on a three-fight winning streak, with his latest victory coming by way of second-round TKO over Derrick Lewis. Prior to that, ‘Salsa Boy’ was coming off back-to-back knockout wins over Shamil Gaziev and Ante Delija.

If that wasn’t enough to get you interested, tonight’s UFC 328 main card also features a welterweight bout between Sean Brady and Joaquin Buckley.

Brady (18-2 MMA) will enter the contest looking to rebound, this after suffering a TKO loss to Michael Morales in his most recent effort this past November at UFC 322. Prior to that setback, the Philadelphia native had strung together three straight wins, which included a submission victory over former division champion Leon Edwards.

Meanwhile, Joaquin Buckley (21-7 MMA) was last seen in action this past June in Atlanta, where he suffered a unanimous decision loss to former division champion Kamaru Usman. That setback snapped a six-fight winning streak for ‘New Mansa’, who had previously scored knockout wins over Colby Covington and Stephen Thompson.
