Tarec Saffiedine is likely out of next weekend’s fight with Rick Story

The UFC’s injury woes continue as it is being reported that Tarec Saffiedine has suffered an injury which will likely force him out of his scheduled bout with Rick Story at next weekend’s UFC Fight Night 88 event.

Saffiedine has not been officially ruled off the card just yet, however, the promotion is doing its due diligence to find a last minute replacement according to MMAFighting.

Tarec spoke to MMAFighting about the injury:

“Most likely, I will not be able to fight this weekend,” Saffiedine told MMAFighting.com. “I am heading now to Vegas to see the UFC doctor. If UFC will not get a replacement and the doctor says I am good to go in a couple weeks hopefully [we can fight]. I will know better tomorrow after the doctor visit.”

The former Strikeforce welterweight champion, Saffiedine, has only competed three times since January 2013 due to various injuries.

Meanwhile, Rick Story was expected to make his first octagon appearance since October 2014 at next weekend’s event, as he recently recovered from neck surgery.
