Last November, Ronda Rousey was knocked stiff by Holly Holm, surrendering the UFC women’s bantamweight title in the process. She has not stepped foot in the Octagon since. Luckily for Rousey fans, that could soon change, as recent rumors have suggested she’ll return to action at UFC 207, where she would take on reigning bantamweight queen Amanda Nunes.

While Conor McGregor stated at the UFC 205 press conference earlier this week that he believes he is the reason for the UFC’s $4.2 billion value, UFC President Dana White seems to think that former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is a bigger star. While Rousey has been absent from the Octagon for nearly a year following her horrific KO loss at the hands of Holly Holm at UFC 193, reports have begun to surface which state that Rousey will return by the end of 2016. In addition, Rousey’s coach, Edmond Tarverdyan, has stated that Rousey could very well return by the end of the year if negotiations with the UFC brass go well.

These reports have gone as far as to reveal that Rousey will be returning to the Octagon before the end of the year. The last report that surfaced revealed that Rousey had been offered a title fight with newly crowned champion Amanda Nunes. Nunes, who won the belt back in July at UFC 200, picked up a spectacular 1st round KO win over Miesha Tate in her last Octagon outing. Since then there has been no word yet on when Nunes will return to the Octagon, however a fight with Rousey could very well make for a massive fight for her first title defense.
